The series follows the lives of the staff and pupils of the eponymous school, an inner-city London comprehensive school. Gonch takes Ziggy's letter from the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, since Ziggy hasn't arrived yet, and decides to make it more interesting, by telling him that Prince Philip himself will visit and that he wants him to collect as much chalk as possible. The drama was centred on the fictional comprehensive school of Grange Hill in the equally fictitious North London borough of Northam. There would probably be world peace now if it had turned out she was fine after all.
